How is my LanceRank score calculated?

Your score is a number from 0 to 100, shown as a bare "LanceRank 82" welded to a career stage (we don't print it as a fraction): 90-100 Trusted Leader, 80-89 Verified Pro, 70-79 Established, 60-69 Rising, below 60 Building. A single published curve maps the raw score to the number you see — display only, your rank never changes. It's built from six weighted factors:

• Track Record (35 pts) — total verified jobs, earnings, and hours, log-scaled, multiplied by a Bayesian rating-quality lift so a 4.9 across 250 reviews beats a 5.0 across 3. Verified reviews and client-confirmed vouched projects count as jobs too.
• Recency & Tenure (20 pts) — 16 points for recent activity (18-month half-life, so a senior between contracts isn't punished) plus 4 for years on file. "Recent activity" means an externally-verified event — an extension re-sync, a scrape-confirmed count increase, a payment-verified review, or a client-confirmed vouch. Re-uploading a screenshot does not refresh it.
• Claimant Credibility (20 pts) — how confident we are you're really you. Stripe Identity (a government ID), LinkedIn OAuth, GitHub OAuth, and extension-proved platform ownership all feed this. Verification means verification: any confirmed real-world identity — a government ID or a LinkedIn login whose name matches your profile — earns the identity credit once, and it never stacks (holding both proves the same identity twice, not two identities). A LinkedIn login that failed its name check earns no sign-in points. Capped at 20 no matter how many proofs you stack.
• Platform Credibility (10 pts) — your highest-tier badge across every platform (Upwork Top Rated Plus, Fiverr Top Rated Seller, Toptal Top 3%, etc.). Freelancers who work direct can earn this instead: 3+ client reviews backed by real payment-rail proof add +5, and 8+ add +7. Uploaded invoice PDFs are self-reported and never qualify for that rung.
• LinkedIn Endorsements (10 pts) — skill endorsements plus LinkedIn tenure, recommendations, and listed services, imported via the Chrome extension. Endorsements are capped at 6 of the 10 points and score concavely, so a wall of easy-to-trade endorsements can't dominate the factor.
• Skills (5 pts) — passed LanceRank skill quizzes. Capped at 5 points.

The top stage is a hard requirement, not just a high number: nobody enters the 90s (Trusted Leader) without either government-ID verification, or extension-proven platform ownership together with corroborated work evidence. Two social logins can never reach it. And screenshots alone never cross 70 — anything at 70 or above carries ownership-proven or independently-corroborated evidence.
