Why aren't all my LinkedIn skill endorsements showing?

When you sync LinkedIn with the LanceRank Sync extension, your skills import reliably — but you may notice the endorsement counts (the “12 endorsements” number next to each skill) come through only partially, or that your total looks lower than what you see on LinkedIn itself.

Here is the honest reason: LinkedIn shows your skill names in one place, but the per-skill endorsement counts live in a separate part of the page that LinkedIn only exposes in a limited, hard-to-read way. Our extension opens your Skills section and reads what it can, but LinkedIn does not make every count machine-readable — so some arrive as 0 even when you have endorsements.

What this means for you:

  • Your skill names always import and appear on your profile.
  • The endorsement counts we can read are shown and do count toward your LanceRank score (the LinkedIn factor).
  • A low or missing count reflects what LinkedIn exposes to tools — it is not a problem with your account or anything you did wrong.

If you think counts are missing, try one clean re-sync:

  1. Open your own LinkedIn profile in Chrome while logged in.
  2. Scroll down to your Skills section and let it fully load — this is where the counts are read from.
  3. Open the LanceRank Sync extension and click Sync.

If the numbers still come through low afterward, that is a limitation on LinkedIn’s side, not yours. We are continually improving how much of this we can read.

This is separate from the blue LinkedIn-Confirmed badge — that is an identity signal you earn by signing in with LinkedIn, covered in its own article.
